Aircon servicing in Punggol
Punggol is one of Singapore's newest towns, built mostly from the 2000s along the Punggol Waterway on the north-east coast. Punggol station and the newer Punggol Coast station on the North East Line, plus the two Punggol LRT loops, serve estates around Waterway Point, Punggol Waterway Park, Punggol Point Park and the Punggol Digital District. Homes are mainly BTO flats, with executive condos such as Waterwoods and private condos along the waterway.
A young town with young systems
Most Punggol flats have a System 3 or System 4 that went in with the renovation, often an inverter unit running on R32. These systems are efficient, but they are also less forgiving of a rushed installation. If a new system has never cooled as well as you expected, the cause is often the installation rather than the unit: our post on new aircon not cooling well covers the usual culprits, including outdoor ledges fouled by birds.
Setting a servicing rhythm
Bedrooms used every night, open-plan living rooms and humid air off the water all add up. Our guide to how often to service your aircon in Singapore helps you set a schedule by room. Regular premium servicing with a PowerJet wash covers the filter, coil, blower fan and drain pan, and a chemical wash adds proper coil chemical before that PowerJet step, for grime that water alone leaves behind. For households planning to replace or add a unit, see aircon installation.

The video on this page is from a servicing-contract client at Waterwoods, the executive condo off Punggol Field. It shows the kind of scheduled visit, with several units done together, that suits a busy household.
