PowerJet Premium Aircon Servicing

- A musty smell for the first few minutes after switching on
- Dust or black spots visible on the blower fan
- A unit last serviced with a quick wipe and spray
What is premium aircon servicing?
Premium aircon servicing is a deep routine clean done with the indoor unit left on the wall. The evaporator coil gets a PowerJet deep clean, the blower fan and drain pan are taken out and washed with the same high-pressure jet, the drain is flushed and the unit is tested. It suits aircons that still cool but are due for cleaning. PowerJet is the name of our high-pressure jet wash. A wipe and a low-pressure spray clean the dust you can see. The slime that blocks airflow sits between the coil fins and the blades of the blower fan, and that is what the jet reaches. You can read how it works in what a PowerJet wash is.
How do we service your aircon?
- Check before we touch it. We switch the aircon on and check cooling, airflow, how the blower fan turns, any squeaks or vibration, and the outdoor unit.
- Protect the area. The wall and floor around the unit are covered.
- Take out the removable parts. Filters, front panel, blower fan and drain pan come out.
- PowerJet the blower fan and drain pan. Every blade and corner is washed, which a spray in place cannot do.
- PowerJet the evaporator coil. This deep clean is what sets premium apart. The spray is kept flat and the coil is washed from the top down, so loosened dirt flows out.
- Flush the drain pipe. Water is poured into the pan to check it drains freely.
- Refit and test. Everything goes back, the unit is checked for level, and we run it to confirm cooling, even airflow and no drips.
Premium servicing, chemical wash or chemical overhaul?
| Premium servicing | Chemical wash | Chemical overhaul |
|---|---|---|---|
Unit position | Stays on the wall | Stays on the wall | Taken down and stripped |
Blower fan and drain pan | Taken out and PowerJet-washed | Taken out and PowerJet-washed | Removed and chemically cleaned |
| Coil cleaned with | Water, PowerJet | Coil chemical, then PowerJet | Coil chemical and PowerJet, both sides | Premium servicing is where most homes should start. If dirt is packed deep in the coil, this PowerJet deep clean is the answer, or the coil cleaner add-on below. A chemical wash adds one step for grime that water alone leaves behind: proper coil chemical goes on first, then the same PowerJet deep clean flushes it out, with the unit still on the wall. A chemical overhaul is the last resort, for an extremely soiled unit, because taking it apart carries a higher risk of gas leaks. Our comparison of chemical wash vs chemical overhaul explains the signs. We show you what we find inside the unit, and the choice is always yours.
How often should you service in Singapore?
Singapore's humidity keeps the evaporator coil wet every time the aircon runs, so dust that slips past the filter turns into a jelly-like biofilm. As a guide, service every 3 to 4 months if a unit runs every night or long hours, and at least every 6 months if it is used lightly. Pets, cooking and road dust shorten the interval. Our guide to how often to service your aircon helps you set your own schedule. On a System 2, 3 or 4 multi-split, servicing all indoor units on one visit lets us check the shared outdoor unit once and compare how each room cools. Regular PowerJet servicing also helps many units go much longer before they need a chemical overhaul.
What affects the price?
- The number of units serviced on the same visit
- The type of unit, such as a wall-mounted fan coil or a ceiling cassette
- Whether the outdoor unit needs washing (done only when needed, at extra cost), and how easy the ledge, rooftop or service yard is to reach
- How much build-up there is, since a unit that needs chemical cleaning is quoted for that instead The price table has two levels. General servicing (booked as AC Servicing) is our regular clean, from S$60 for 1 unit. Premium PowerJet servicing (booked as Premium Jet Wash) adds PowerJet as described on this page: a deep clean of the evaporator coil and a jet wash of the blower fan and drain pan, from S$80 for 1 unit. Both cost less per unit when more units are done on the same visit. If the coil needs more than water, we may advise an add-on coil cleaner on site: Viper's non-toxic heavy-duty evaporator coil cleaner, from S$30 per unit depending on the coil's condition. It is only used when needed, and we tell you before we use it.
Warranty
Every service includes a 90-day warranty. If a unit we serviced leaks water or stops cooling within 90 days, WhatsApp us photos or a video of the problem: the site inspection, fixing the leak and any minor repair caused by our work are free. The warranty does not cover parts or installation costs, misuse, wear and tear on an ageing system, or problems from a gas leak the unit already had.

PowerJet Premium Aircon Servicing: common questions
Do I need to be home during the servicing?
Someone should be there to let the technician in, show which units need work and check the aircon is cooling before the technician leaves. It is also the best time to ask what was found inside each unit.
Will a PowerJet wash make a mess in my room?
The wall and floor around the unit are covered before washing and the dirty water is collected as we go. The blower fan and drain pan are washed separately, usually in the bathroom, and we clean up afterwards.
Is high-pressure water safe for the coil fins?
Yes, with the right technique. The jet is set as a flat spray and the coil is washed from the top down, so the water cleans through the fins instead of flattening them. Technique matters as much as the machine.
Can I just wash the filters myself instead?
Washing the air filters every few weeks is worth doing between services. It does not reach the coil, blower fan, drain pan or drain pipe, which is where most leaks and smells start, so it does not replace servicing.
Does a brand-new aircon need servicing?
Yes. A new unit collects dust and grows mould on the coil and blower fan like an old one, especially in Singapore's humidity. Many manufacturer warranties also expect regular servicing, so keep your service reports.
