Aircon servicing in Hougang: HDB estates and landed homes
Hougang is a mature north-eastern town on the North East Line, with Hougang station at the town centre and Kovan to the south. Hougang Mall and Heartland Mall are the main malls, and the Defu industrial estate sits on the town's southern side. Most homes are HDB flats from the 1980s around Hougang Central, Lorong Ah Soo and Upper Serangoon Road, with landed streets around Kovan and Highland Road.
What each type of home usually needs
Home | What we tend to see | Usual service |
|---|---|---|
HDB flat from the 1980s, second or third system | Slow cooling, water dripping, a musty smell | Premium servicing, or a chemical wash if the blower fan and drain pan are slimy; a chemical overhaul only as a last resort |
Landed house near Kovan | Several systems of different brands and ages, outdoor units in yards or on the roof | All units serviced in one visit with premium servicing |
Not sure whether your unit needs a wash or a full overhaul? Our comparison of chemical wash and chemical overhaul explains the difference in scope, time and results.
After servicing, still dripping?
A unit that starts leaking soon after a clean usually has a simple cause: a drain pan not seated properly, a drain pipe loosened, or dirt washed off the coil settling in the drain pipe. Our post on aircon leaking after servicing goes through each one, and if it follows one of our jobs, it falls under our 90-day warranty.
