Aircon services in Toa Payoh

Aircon in Toa Payoh: from early HDB flats to Bidadari
Toa Payoh is one of Singapore's earliest HDB towns, built around Toa Payoh and Braddell stations on the North-South Line, with Potong Pasir and Woodleigh on the North East Line on its eastern side. The town centre has the HDB Hub and Toa Payoh Town Park, and the newest estate, Bidadari, has grown up around Bidadari Park and The Woodleigh Mall.
Can a new system fit where the old one was?
This is the question most Toa Payoh replacements start with. Many older flats have small aircon ledges, or none at all, with outdoor units on wall brackets. HDB has rules on where outdoor units may go, and a new multi-split outdoor unit is often larger than the single units it replaces. Before you choose a model, measure the ledge or bracket and check the clearance around it. A unit squeezed into a tight space recycles its own hot air and loses efficiency, as our guide to outdoor unit problems explains. Our buying guide covers sizing and System 2, 3 or 4 choices. Aircon installation handles the removal, new piping where needed, testing the pipes for leaks and pumping out air and moisture.
Keeping an older system going
If replacing is not on the cards yet, premium servicing gives the coil a PowerJet deep clean and takes out the blower fan and drain pan for a PowerJet wash, and a chemical wash adds proper coil chemical before that PowerJet step, for grime that water alone leaves behind.
New in Bidadari
Bidadari flats have recent systems, and the main job is regular premium servicing so the coil and drain stay clean from the start.
