Aircon servicing in Yishun

Yishun is a northern HDB town built from the 1980s, served by Yishun and Khatib stations on the North-South Line. Northpoint City sits at the town centre, and Yishun Park, Yishun Pond, Lower Seletar Reservoir, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and the Chong Pang area are the places residents know best. Newer BTO projects have been added around the town since the 2010s, so older and younger flats sit side by side.

What the Ashi Yishun job shows

This page's video was filmed at the Yishun branch of Ashi Foot Reflexology: a PowerJet wash for two Mitsubishi units, a motor replaced, and a full evacuation of the system. It is a good example of a visit that is more than cleaning.

Why a PowerJet wash? A high-pressure wash pushes grime out of the coil and blower fan that a hand sprayer leaves behind. Our post on what a PowerJet wash is explains how it works and why we use it for premium servicing.

Why evacuate? Whenever the refrigerant circuit is opened, air and moisture get in. Pumping out the air and moisture before the gas goes back protects the compressor, especially on R32 systems. Our guide to why vacuum evacuation matters goes into detail.

For homes in Yishun

In the older blocks, a second-generation system with fading cooling usually needs the PowerJet deep clean of the coil that comes with premium servicing, or a chemical wash if the blower fan and drain pan are slimy. When a fan motor, capacitor or PCB fails, aircon repair replaces the part. In the newer BTO flats, regular servicing from the first year keeps a young system clean.
