Quarterly aircon servicing package: is it worth it in Singapore?

By Eric Lim, founder of iAircon.Repair · · 3 min read

Is a quarterly aircon servicing package worth it?

For aircons that run most nights in Singapore, yes. A quarterly maintenance contract services every unit four times a year, so slime never has time to set in the drain, blower fan or coil. That is what stops sudden leaks and keeps cooling strong, and the visits are booked for you, so none are forgotten.

Key takeaways

  • Four services a year: one every three months, matched to how fast slime grows back in Singapore.
  • Prevention, not repair: a unit kept clean from new rarely needs a chemical wash or overhaul.
  • No dates to remember: the visits are planned with you in advance.
  • A record after every visit: useful for landlords, tenants and warranty claims.

In the video above, Uncle Eric explains our quarterly maintenance contract, for homeowners, landlords and the agents who look after their homes.

What does quarterly servicing look like after years?

Mr Jason Chiam's four aircons have been serviced by us every three months since 2019, starting from the day they were brand new. Our service records show that in all that time they have never needed a chemical wash or overhaul, and they have never had a sudden water leak. That is the point of a contract: nothing builds up long enough to cause trouble.

Record of servicing

One report per booking

A report after every visit, all year

Every visit services the unit and clears and flushes the drain pipe. When a coil starts to clog, that visit adds the PowerJet coil deep clean from our premium servicing, so the coil never gets to the point of needing a chemical wash.

Who is a contract for?

  1. Homes with laminate or parquet floors. One overflow can lift boards that cost far more than a year of servicing.
  2. Families with young children or elderly parents. A leak or a dead aircon on a hot night is more than an inconvenience.
  3. Landlords and tenants. Many tenancy agreements require regular servicing; a report after every visit proves it was done.
  4. Bedroom units that run every night. These clog fastest and benefit most.
  5. Anyone who keeps forgetting. A contract removes the reminder from your to-do list.

Why quarterly in Singapore?

Our aircons run long hours in humid air, so they pull a lot of water out of every room. Microbes in that water grow into a jelly in the drain pipe over the months. Three months is short enough to flush it while it is still soft. Read how drain pipe slime forms.

Frequently asked questions

What is an aircon annual maintenance contract?

It is a year of servicing agreed in advance. With ours, every unit is serviced four times a year, once every three months, so the drain and blower fan stay clear, and a coil that starts to clog gets a PowerJet deep clean before it ever needs a chemical wash.

Is quarterly servicing too often?

Not for aircons that run most nights in Singapore. Slime grows back in the drain over the months, and three months clears it before it sets. Lightly used units can go up to six months between services.

Do landlords use maintenance contracts?

Yes. Many tenancy agreements ask for regular aircon servicing, and a contract with a service report after each visit gives the landlord and tenant a record that it was done.

Can I turn a leak check credit into a contract?

Yes. If our infrared leak check finds the gas is fine, the balance after the work done can go towards a quarterly maintenance contract instead of being kept for a later service.

How much is a quarterly maintenance contract?

From S$300 a year. The price depends on how many aircons you have, so tell us on WhatsApp how many units you have and we quote your price.

How do I book a maintenance contract?

Message Luna, our AI assistant, on WhatsApp at any hour, or call us. We set up the four visits a year with you.
