How much does an aircon gas leak repair cost in Singapore?
Start with our gas check and top-up at S$165. If the gas keeps running low, the infrared leak check is S$580 for 1 to 3 units or S$880 for 4 to 5. The repair itself is quoted before any work, and depends on where the leak is and how easy it is to reach.
Key takeaways
- Three steps, three prices: the gas check, finding the leak, then the repair.
- Start small: most customers should book the S$165 gas check first, which costs far less than a leak check.
- Hidden pipes cost more: a leak inside a wall or ceiling has to be reached before it can be fixed.
- Repeat top-ups add up: paying for gas every few months soon costs more than the leak check that finds the leak.
In the video above, a Daikin R32 system less than two years old had lost cooling. Our infrared detector found no leak at the flare nuts or the outdoor unit, which pointed to the concealed pipe run, over 15 metres long, one of the hardest and costliest places for a leak to be.
How did that job end?
No leak point showed up at the parts we could reach. We remade the flare joints anyway, topped up the gas and kept watching the system for a few months. The owner, Mr Bryan New in Hougang, then took up a maintenance contract for his three units, and we check the gas at every visit. Since November 2024 the system has not needed any more gas.
What you pay, step by step
- Gas check and top-up, S$165. Paid at booking. If the gas is fine, it goes towards the service that fixes the cooling. Book our gas check and top-up.
- Infrared leak check, from S$580. For gas that has run low before. If the gas turns out fine, the S$580 offsets the work done and the balance is kept for future services, or turned into a quarterly maintenance contract.
- The repair, quoted before any work. Once the leak is found and shown to you, we quote the fix. You decide before anything is done.

What drives the repair price?
Driver | Costs less | Costs more |
|---|---|---|
Where the leak is | A flare joint or valve on the outdoor unit | A coil, or pipes inside a wall or ceiling |
Pipe access | Exposed pipes along the wall | Concealed pipes needing an opening |
The fix | A flare remade | A valve, a pipe section or a coil replaced |
Gas type and amount | A short pipe run | A long run that takes more gas to refill |
System size | System 1 | System 3 or 4, with more joints to check |
Every repair ends the same way: the repair is checked again with the infrared detector, air and moisture are pumped out, and the correct gas goes back in. That is our aircon gas leak repair.
Why repeat top-ups cost more
The gas circuit is sealed, so gas does not get used up. If it runs low, it is leaking. A top-up puts the gas back, and the leak lets it out again. Paying S$165 every few months soon costs more than the leak check that finds it, and in between the aircon runs short of gas, cools poorly and works harder. Read the aircon gas leak signs to know when to stop topping up.
Do you need to pay for a pressure test?
No. We find leaks with infrared and ultrasonic detectors, so you do not pay for days of testing: read why we do not use pressure tests. Already quoted new piping? Read how to get a second opinion.
How do ledges and multi-split systems affect the price?
Most outdoor units sit on an HDB or condo aircon ledge, so ledge access is part of every gas job. On a System 2, 3 or 4, one outdoor unit feeds several rooms, so there are more joints to check and more gas to refill. Newer inverter aircons use R32, older ones R410A, and the oldest R22; each takes only its own gas.

When to call a technician
Call us when the cooling fades again weeks after a top-up, when you have needed gas more than once in a year or two, or when you see frost on a copper pipe with clean filters. If you are not sure gas is the cause, read why an aircon is not cold.
Frequently asked questions
Why not just keep topping up the gas?
Each top-up is S$165, and a leaking system loses the gas again. If it needs gas twice a year, the top-ups cost more than the S$580 leak check within two years, and the unit runs short of gas in between.
What happens to the S$580 if there is no leak?
It is not lost. We deduct the cost of the work actually done and keep the balance for your future services, or turn it into a maintenance contract with servicing 4 times a year.
Why does a leak in concealed pipes cost more?
The pipes run inside walls, trunking or a false ceiling, so they have to be reached before they can be repaired. We tell you what needs opening and quote it before any work starts.
Is the repair covered by a warranty?
Yes. Gas leak repairs carry a repair warranty from 180 days, depending on the job. To claim, WhatsApp us photos or a video of the problem.
Does a chemical overhaul include a gas check?
Yes. Our chemical overhaul includes a free gas check and top-up, worth S$165, and a deep evacuation, worth S$395. It does not include finding or repairing a leak.
